After jumping through more hoops than I want to talk about this past week, I have moved off of my ancient AT&T DSL and on to their fixed wireless Internet Air. Yes, I am close enough to a 5G tower to actually have it work well. I was getting maybe up to 10 Mbps download speeds and around 1 Mbps upload speeds if I was lucky on DSL. Yes, I know the upload speeds on the Internet Air could be better, but let me tell you I’m not going to complain. I feel as if I have stepped into the home internet of the 21st century.

AT&T is winding down support of copper wire, and rural living does not include fiber. I’m lucky to be close enough to a tower to be able to get this instead of having to go with a satellite solution. Hopefully it continues the way it started.

In other news . . . oh wait, there really isn’t any other news. January moves on, somedays way too warm for the season and some days simply cold. We may have some serious winter weather moving in, but I can’t complain too much about an otherwise mostly mild Winter.
