The struggle is real. With any luck I’ll have a home phone again on Friday. I will not bore you with the details, but my experience getting my DSL and old VOIP cancelled and Home Phone – Advanced has been a mixed bag. Very mixed. Oh, it works (worked), but the provider managed to FUBAR everything to the point that last week they cancelled the old DSL service (which was already disconnected and should have been marked as cancelled) the old VOIP service (ditto) AND the new, fully functional Home Phone – Advanced. Of course they could not use the same Home Phone – Advanced equipment, they had to send be a new one and I had to return the old one. Also with all of the sunshine and joy, since it is considered new service, the discount I had on initial signup no longer applies. Yeah – go me. 🙂 However discounts other places makes my net across the board – Internet, home phone, and cell phones – less then it was before I embarked on this adventure more than month ago. So, we have been without a home phone for a week now and the world has not come to an end. Maybe someday I will be able to finally let it go for good.
