There comes a time in every appliance’s life when it is time to say goodbye. Last week that time came for my 22 year old Bosch front loader and dryer. Because I am space constrained and the new front loaders are bigger than the old Bosch, I had to go with a top loader. And of course I had to research the heck out of washers and dryers and laundry in general. As it turns out I had a lot to learn about all of it. Yay!

I ended up with a 5.5 cubic foot top load washer from LG and of course it’s matching dryer. It is huge! Because Best Buy has a 48 hour return window, I spent those first 48 hours trying to break it. I did all of our bedding in three loads – sheets and blankets (would have been six loads in the Bosch). I washed three 27″x42″ fleece dog beds and two small throws in one load. I washed a much bigger fleece dog bed and two heavy throws in one load. I did all of the white towels that were in use in one load – since white is pretty much all we use in bath and kitchen, that was a very big load. And I didn’t break it. 🙂

So far, so good. I hope I continue to not break it. That would make me very sad.

On a totally unrelated note, I’ve been doing things like making collars for the upcoming National and playing with dogs, and not coincidentally neglecting any and all website updates here and at https://siriusenterprises.com. I’ll get back to that eventually.
